How age is counted
Worked example
Born 15 August 2000, age on 23 October 2026
Full years: 26 (15 Aug 2000 → 15 Aug 2026)
Then 2 full months (to 15 Oct) and 8 days
Age = 26 years, 2 months, 8 days
Age as on a cut-off date
Government exams, school admissions and sports events often ask for age "as on" a specific date, such as 1 January or 1 August of the exam year. Enter that date in the optional field to check eligibility. For example, an exam with an upper age limit of 32 years as on 1 August 2026 requires a date of birth on or after 2 August 1993.
